What is Body Memory Recall?
BMR is a "Holistic Bodywork" approach which includes 4 different modalities. The practitioner through hands-on bodywork can help the client release subconscious body memory found in suppressed thoughts, feelings or physical pain. This is part of releasing body memory and changing patterns that dont serve you. This will help you find inner peace and well-being .
4 BMR approaches explained:
1. Myo fascial Release:
" Myo " refers to muscles . " Fascia " refers to connective tissue which surrounds the whole body from head to toe. It surrounds muscles, bones, organs, nerves & veines. Fascia is often overlooked and untreated. When physical tensions, injuries, surgeries, suppressed emotional stress are not addressed the muscles tense up nd fascia hardens. Fascial contrictions that is not treated over time causes chronic muscle tensions, headaches, fibromyalgia, TMJ, arthitic conditions, suppressed body memory, just to name a few.
It is often mis-dagnosed and untreated. This is why many people live with chronic symptoms that never get resolved. Its very powerful appproach to assist the body in healing itself.
2. Cranial Sacral:
This effective therapy helps to relax the central nervous system and restore movement of the cranial bones found at the back of the head. Cranial Sacral work can affect the following conditions; anxiety, depression, TMJ, stress, heahaches, sinus conditions, visual and hearing dysfunctions, learning disabilities, sleep disturbances and much more.
Often when cranial saccral is administered to the back of the head major healing can happen.
3. Visceral Manipulation:
When addressing constriction around organs and the fascia surrounding each organ this approach is called visceral manipulation. Each organ is surrounded with a fascia cavity. The practitioner identifies which organ either in abdomen, pelvic, diaphragmatic, chest or front of throat to release scar tissue or hardening of fascia in those areas.
4. Chakra Energy Work:
The word Ckakra comes from the Sanskrit language meaning "spinning wheel " of energy. Working with Chakras is the most effective way of balancing the subtle etheric body from within. There are 7 major chakra centers. These spinning energy centers are situated along the spinal column. Each chakra resonates a colour and vibrates an musical note. Each center is essential to the health of specific organs, emotions and thoughts. By keeping these 7 chakras open this can prevent illnesses and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit connection. Each chakra resonates a colour and vibrates a musical note. Working with the chakras can help the practitioner assist the client let go.
This approach can help balance these centers to help calm the nervous system and emotional turmoil.

Common Questions about Body Memory Recall
Its a natural and powerful innate mechanism of self-correcting movement of fascia as the mind and muscle release as a single unit. For unwinding to occur the person must simply allow it to happen. Dealing with the thoughts that we resist that keep us stuck. These thoughts persist until you really look at them and become an energetic habitual "habit to freeze" will effectively prevent unwinding from occuring. BMR is a great approach with consistency to help someone free themsleves from years of accumulated body memory and body armor.
2. What are the signs that Unwinding is happening during a session?
- Breathing changes Body temperature changes
- Trembling of shaking
- Involuntary movement & positioning
- Spontaneous & involuntary vocalization
- Release of emotions and memory recall
Its a protective coping mechanism based on fear of re-experiencing difficult memories which come up as body tirggers in thoughts, physical body or emotional trauma. These memories may appear as physical pain, anxiety or post-traumatic episodes due to hardening of fluid and muscles and fascia tissues which is called "Body Armor"
4. What is Body Armor?
Body armor is restrictions in the body that are unconsciously created as a protective responses (fight or flight-freeze response) that diminish the flow of energy that moves through the Chakra system. This lack of flow in energy generates tension in muscles, brain, and intracellular fluids. Connective tissue thicken, bind together forming restriction. BMR technique incorporate a spectrum of touch, pressure and stretch from subtle to deep. These many different approches are needed to engage and support the release of outdated protective responses from the past to help re-balance the chakras to encourage the chi energy to flow.
5. How does body memory recall work?
Fascial pulls bones out of ideal alignment and causes muscles spasm and trigger points. Body memory is found in the body through tissue, fascia, fluid, muscle and the central nervous system. Once the practitioner has established trust with the client, he/she can help a client move through "freeze responses" which is a protective response that we as humans have to avoid feeling and experiencing pain. The next step once the client understands the concept of freeze response and how this creates "body armor" in their body. The practitioner can assist a client in facing "barriers" which are a result of body armor to bring the body into "unwind". Its a form of self-correction or homeostasis. The increased energy that comes from unwinding will propel the body to move. Sometimes the body unwinds into positions of past trauma which is called "positional memory release".
-
Ideally BMR is cutomized for your unique needs.
-
Its important to consider your condition.
-
must consider clients goals for healing and transformation.
-
What decides this is initial response to BMR & available times and resourses.
7. What are BMR intensives?
Recieving 1 to 2 BMR sessions a day for five to 6 days in a row.
These are called "BMR INTENSIVES". Chronic or challenging conditions may require more frequent BMR .
